The Maple Mountain Golden Eagles will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Carbon Dinos at 5:15 p.m. Maple Mountain will be strutting in after a victory while Carbon will be coming in after a loss.
Last Tuesday, Maple Mountain humbled Logan with a 80-21 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-6.
Maple Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Liesel Hansen, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Kylee Gause was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Carbon kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell to Cedar 59-53.
Loss or not, Carbon got some senior leadership from Amiah Timothy who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 10 rebounds and Madison Orth who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kylan Sorenson, who scored 3 points along with 4 steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Maple Mountain and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Carbon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
