The First Academy has gone 8-2 against Mount Dora Christian Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Royals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The First Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
The First Academy barely beat Lyman the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Royals blew past the Greyhounds 12-2 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won three in a row.
Isabella Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Brown was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

The First Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Mount Dora Christian Academy entered their tilt with Foundation Academy on Friday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They skirted past the Lions 7-5. Seven seems to be a good number for the Bulldogs as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Trinty DeVries spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits.
At the plate, Katie Bayly and Lily Bryant did most of the damage at the plate: Bayly scored three runs while going 4-for-5, while Bryant scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Shannon Bailey was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI.
Mount Dora Christian Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for The First Academy, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. The First Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mount Dora Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
The First Academy beat Mount Dora Christian Academy 9-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Royals repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
