The South Dade Buccaneers had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Golden Gate with a 49-44 victory on Friday.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Powell, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. The game was Powell's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Garvens Jeunegens was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
South Dade's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Golden Gate, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Dade will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Gulf Coast at 12:00 p.m. on January 6th. Gulf Coast presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Dade in Florida (Gulf Coast is ranked 259th, while South Dade is ranked 538th). As for Golden Gate, they will head out on the road to face off against Port Charlotte at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Port Charlotte will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
