North Branford is on a 15-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Masuk is on a 19-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Thunderbirds will host the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
North Branford's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against East Hampton as they made off with an 11-0 win.
Not much got past Adrienne Frost, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep East Hampton off the board. Frost has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alia Martone, who fired off four doubles, three RBI, and one run while going 4-for-5. Those four doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lexi Falcioni, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Branford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Masuk got the win against Weston on Monday by a conclusive 14-0.
Julia Bacoulis and Grace Ely made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Bacoulis struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Ely tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Bacoulis got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one triple, while Ely fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-4.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as nine players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Lieto, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Peyton Webb was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Masuk is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-1-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for North Branford, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Branford has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .521. However, it's not like Masuk struggles in that department as they've averaged .513. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Branford came up short against Masuk when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 7-4. Will the Thunderbirds have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
