The Northwest Guilford Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Southwest Guilford Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Guilford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Northwest Guilford's last matchup with Southeast Guilford could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Wednesday. The Vikings lost 10-4 to the Falcons. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Northwest Guilford had to settle for second despite strong performances on the mound from Weston Taylor and Nick Trogdon Taylor tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Trogdon pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Taylor gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

Northwest Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Southwest Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Northwest Guilford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Southwest Guilford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Northwest Guilford beat Southwest Guilford 5-2 when the teams last played on Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
