The Maryvale Panthers lost against the Westview Knights back in December of 2014, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Maryvale's rough 51-27 loss to Westview might stick with them for a while.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taylorrae Martinez, who scored five points along with three steals. Valerie A paniagua chavez was another key contributor, scoring a points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Maryvale bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for Westview, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
After both having extra time off, Maryvale and Browne will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Browne comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Westview will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Desert Edge at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Hopefully Desert Edge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Tuesday.
