Mercer Christian Academy took a hard 68-50 fall against Wyoming East. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mercer Christian Academy in their matchups with Wyoming East: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Mercer Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Kayley Trump, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Abbie Greer, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wyoming East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cadence Blackburn, who scored 17 points along with five assists and two steals. Blackburn hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Alivia Monroe was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Mercer Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Wyoming East, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.
Mercer Christian Academy will be playing at home against Morgantown Christian Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Morgantown Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 17.2 points per game this season, so Mercer Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Wyoming East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chapmanville Regional at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wyoming East is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.4 points per game this season.
