North Central I recap October 29, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Kelseyville, who took down 810th ranked Clear Lake, 36-14.
St. Helena scaled the state rankings by moving to 490 from 523 this week, the biggest jump in North Central I. The Saints climbed the ranks as a result of beating Fort Bragg 47-7.
Lower Lake's dynamic duo of Isazah King and Brendan Manginer proved tough for Willits to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. King threw for 146 yards and Manginer had 131 yards receiving.
Pepe Gallegos made the biggest impact on defense this week as St. Helena topped the Timberwolves. The 5-foot-8 senior pulled down 1 interception.
St. Helena's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Saints feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jack Preston has thrown for 736 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Gatlin Blakeley has 28 catches for 484 yards.
Sebastian Segura of the Brandon Farrell's team is just 53 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Segura has rushed for 947 yards on 117 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Middletown takes on the Cardinals. The Mustangs are currently in first, while Clear Lake is in third.
Middletown extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Cloverdale, 47-7. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
