Video: Dylan McCaffrey Senior Highlights
See the Valor Christian alum's best plays from his final year in high school. The most dominant high school football program in Colorado since MaxPreps became America's source for high school sports got off to a very slow start. Considering just how dominant Valor Christian is, that's plain scary.
The Eagles didn't earn any points for the first three years counted in this article, then proceeded to begin a stretch of state title game appearances that has now reached seven. Even more impressive is that six of those trips ended with Valor Christian players celebrating a title.
Valor also claimed the state's top computer rankings spot five different times.
Their huge margin over No. 2 Mullen exhibits a changing of the guard in Colorado. The Mustangs reached a state title game in four of the first five years this article covers (winning three) and grabbed the No. 1 rankings spot three times in addition to a pair of No. 2 finishes.
The list isn't just for the big boys. Akron reached No. 8 thanks to three Class 1A titles and another title game appearance, and five 2A title game appearances earned Platte Valley the No. 13 slot.
Here is how the points break down:
1. 20 for a state title
2. 10 for state championship game appearance
3.
Other points are based on where a team finished in the final
MaxPreps Colorado Football Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. For example, if a team finished No. 1 overall, it would receive
25 points. If it finished 25th overall, the team would get one point. No
points are awarded if the team did not finish in the Top 25.
