On Wednesday, the Dunbar Crimson Tide faced the Roosevelt Roughriders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Dunbar blew past Roosevelt, posting a 57-22 victory on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Dunbar, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Dunbar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emorean Thomas, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Thomas continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kirstin Holt, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds.
Dunbar is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Crimson Tide will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Poets at 12:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Roosevelt, they will take on Eastern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eastern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Wednesday.
