Basketball Recap: Mendota Skates Past Dos Palos with Ease

Mendota had won seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 14-5 to make it eight. They really took it to the Dos Palos Broncos for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-32 win. The Aztecs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 23 points or more this season.

As for Dos Palos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1170th, while Mendota is ranked 513th).

Dos Palos' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Santiago Olivo, who posted 11 points, and Anthony Lish, who earned nine points.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mendota will square off against Coalinga at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Aztecs will need to watch out since the Horned Toads have now posted at least 55 points in their last eight games. As for Dos Palos, they will take on Tranquillity at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
