Fullerton is on a four-game streak of home wins, while La Habra is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Fullerton Indians will take on the La Habra Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Sunny Hills scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, Fullerton still came out on top. Fullerton pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over Sunny Hills. The victory was all the more spectacular given Fullerton's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 599th, while Sunny Hills is ranked 256th).
It was another big night for Josiah Jessup, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Baylor Wilks, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, La Habra earned a 53-41 victory over Sunny Hills on Friday.
Fullerton's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for La Habra, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
Fullerton might still be hurting after the 68-43 defeat they got from La Habra when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Fullerton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
