The Monrovia Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Monrovia and ten for Indianapolis Shortridge.
Last Saturday, Monrovia lost to North Putnam on the road by a decisive 67-50 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Monrovia in their matchups with North Putnam: they've now lost three in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Clay Tharp, who scored 15 points. Tucker Rahn was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Indianapolis Shortridge, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-49 loss to Indianapolis Washington on Friday.
Monrovia has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-12.
Monrovia came up short against Indianapolis Shortridge when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 66-54. Can Monrovia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
