Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Celeste). They never let the Campbell Indians get on the board and left with a 26-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Jada Garcia made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Mya Mainord was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (four). Another player making a difference was MaddieClaire Park, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.
Celeste hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in nine consecutive matches.
