Chagrin Falls is 8-2 against Harvey since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Chagrin Falls Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Harvey Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Chagrin Falls will head into Tuesday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 28-point drubbing they dealt Beachwood on Tuesday. Chagrin Falls blew past Beachwood 70-42. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on five straight.
Chagrin Falls got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Spencer Kaas out in front who posted 11 points. Christian Trudic also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Chagrin Falls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Harvey hadn't done well against Edgewood recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Harvey took down Edgewood 77-58. The matchup marked the Red Raiders' most dominant win of the season.
Harvey found their leader in sophomore Kam Leftwich, who went 9 for 12 en route to 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for Leftwich. Another player making a difference was Chase Goines, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and four steals.
Chagrin Falls' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Harvey, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Chagrin Falls has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 23.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Harvey struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Chagrin Falls was able to grind out a solid victory over Harvey when the teams last played back in January, winning 80-72. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chagrin Falls since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
