McMichael is 8-2 against Rockingham County since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Phoenix will challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with McMichael sitting on four straight wins and Rockingham County on seven.
On Tuesday, McMichael made easy work of Morehead and carried off a 7-1 victory. Considering the Phoenix have won 16 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lindsay Redmon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ava Harris was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Olivia Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
McMichael hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Rockingham County narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Walkertown 3-1.
Rockingham County also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ava Grace Pruitt gave up only one earned run on two hits and racked up 14 Ks.
At the plate, Rockingham County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maci Hundly, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another was Bella Jones, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
McMichael's record is now 19-3. As for Rockingham County, their record now sits at 13-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. McMichael has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Rockingham County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.1 hits.
