The Interlachen Rams will face off against the Palatka Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Interlachen has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Interlachen had taken St. Augustine down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Rams lost 15-3 to the Yellow Jackets. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
India McMeekin made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palatka). They put the hurt on Crescent City with a sharp 33-1 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won five in a row.
Skylar Hall and Charla Griffin were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Hall pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Griffin tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Hall went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Griffin went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those four runs gave Hall a new career-high.
In other batting news, Palatka got a massive performance out of Cali Taylor, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one double. Taylor continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Emma Hansford was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one double.
Palatka hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matchups.
Palatka's record is now 7-3. As for Interlachen, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Interlachen hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Palatka struggles in that department as they've averaged .348. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Interlachen might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Palatka in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
