The Franklin Academy Cougars won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. Their tough 59-35 loss to Hillcrest Christian might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Franklin Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 240th in Louisiana, while Hillcrest Christian is ranked 90th in Mississippi).
Severe McNeary continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hillcrest Christian, scoring 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Battle, who scored ten points.
Franklin Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Hillcrest Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Prairie View Academy the next time they take the court. Hillcrest Christian will host Prairie View Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Franklin Academy will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
