They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 61-35 walloping at the hands of Wauwatosa East. Brookfield Central has struggled against Wauwatosa East recently, as their game on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Brookfield Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dylan Romero, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Josie Piurkowski, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Brookfield Central bumped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Wauwatosa East, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookfield Central will take on Brookfield Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wauwatosa East won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shorewood at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Shorewood has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
