The Smyrna Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lebanon.
Smyrna's loss came despite strong showings from Ze'keice Mccarver and Tyreque Mccarver. Mccarver scored 24 points along with three steals, while Mccarver scored 13 points along with six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mccarver has scored all season. Kaleil Lyons was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Smyrna has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Lebanon, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smyrna and LaVergne will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. LaVergne will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Lebanon, they will head out on the road to take on Wilson Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Wilson Central is ranked 173rd, while Lebanon is ranked 186th).
