The Pima Roughriders can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They blew past Willcox, posting a 64-37 victory at home. The win was familiar territory for Pima who now have five in a row.
Leading Pima to victory were Ady Hoopes and Madison Gann. Hoopes dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Gann scored 20 points. Hoopes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sadie Richardson, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Willcox lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maddie Bennett. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Bennett has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paislee Adams, who scored 11 points.
Pima's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37 points. As for Willcox, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.
Coincidentally, Pima and Willcox will both be playing Benson the next time they take the court. Pima will head out to face Benson at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Willcox will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
