The Yonkers Montessori Academy Eagles had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 52-43 to Saunders Trades & Tech. Yonkers Montessori Academy lost against Saunders Trades & Tech in their previous head to head back in December of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 63-25 score last time.
Saunders Trades & Tech can attribute much of their success to Micheal Patterson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. Alex Vazquez was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 4 steals.
Yonkers Montessori Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Saunders Trades & Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yonkers Montessori Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Barack Obama School for Social Justice at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Saunders Trades & Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
