Carlisle County is 1-9 against Murray since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Carlisle County Comets will head out on the road to challenge the Murray Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Carlisle County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 438 points over their last six matchups.
Even though Carlisle County has not done well against Mayfield recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Carlisle County strolled past Mayfield with points to spare, taking the game 69-51.
Carlisle County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Burnett out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zack Grogan, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Murray had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it three last Tuesday. They walked away with a 43-36 win over Graves County.
Carlisle County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Murray, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Carlisle County suffered a grim 78-57 defeat to Murray in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Carlisle County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
