The Perry County Vikings suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Summertown by a score of 64-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game two weeks ago (60), Perry County still had to take the loss.
Perry County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Pevahouse, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. Landon Warren was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Perry County has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Summertown, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry County will square off against Collinwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Summertown will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Moore County at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th.
