After flying high against the Hardin County Tigers last Tuesday, the Jackson South Side Hawks came back down to earth. Jackson South Side was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 42-41 to Chester County. Jackson South Side was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chester County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Jackson South Side's loss came despite strong showings from Jaidynn Askins and Felicity Long. Askins dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Long scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Long has scored all season.
Jackson South Side's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Chester County, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson South Side will take on Jackson North Side at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jackson North Side comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Chester County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McNairy Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
