The Holyoke Purple Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. Their tough 50-24 loss to Central might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Holyoke has scored all season.
Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Swan, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Swan hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Angalece Quinones, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Holyoke's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Central, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holyoke will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
