After flying high against the Peoria Christian Chargers last Monday, the Peoria Heights Patriots came back down to earth. Peoria Heights fell to the Tigers 43-39. It was the first time this season that Peoria Heights let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Peoria Heights still got an impressive performance from Nyaja Russell, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Russell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Janessa Marie wallace, who scored eight points along with six assists and three steals.
Peoria Heights' loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 21-6. As for Illini Bluffs, their victory bumped their record up to 22-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peoria Heights will take on the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bushnell-Prairie City is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Illini Bluffs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brimfield is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.
