Calvary Christian hasn't had much luck against Bishop Brossart recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cougars will host the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
While Calvary Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Williamstown 13-1 on Tuesday.

Adam Curtis made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Cal Ruwe was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Luke Corbin was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Bishop Brossart had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Like Calvary Christian, Bishop Brossart also got a great game from a two-way player: Luke Neltner. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Neltner was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Bishop Brossart got a massive performance out of Isaac Amin, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Alex Noe, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI.
Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Bishop Brossart, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Calvary Christian couldn't quite finish off Bishop Brossart when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
