Overland's defeat came about despite a quality game from Siraaj Ali, who scored 22 points along with seven assists and three steals. Ali is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Ronald Henry was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Cherry Creek now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Overland, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 8-7.
Wednesday's contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jeremiah Hammond and Ali. Hammond has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 14.3 points and 5.2 rebounds. For his part, Ali has averaged 17.6 points, 2.4 steals, and 6.6 assists.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Cherry Creek hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 53.1 points per game. It's a different story for Overland, though, as they've been averaging only 65.6 points per game. The only thing between Cherry Creek and another offensive beatdown is Overland.
