The Clearfield Falcons will head out on the road to take on the West Field Longhorns at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clearfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Roy with a sharp 29-5 win on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.
Jenna Lloyd was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Skylar Davis, who went 3-for-4 with eight RBI, two triples, and two runs. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Leonhardt, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Clearfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .738. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, West Field had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Mustangs.
West Field let Ayzlee Sessions and Rylee Andreasen run wild. Sessions went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Andreasen went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that Sessions has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Brylee Leatherwood, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Clearfield's record is now 11-6. As for West Field, their record now sits at 12-4.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Clearfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .501. However, it's not like West Field struggles in that department as they've averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
