They put the hurt on Immaculate Conception Academy with a sharp 67-41 victory on Tuesday. This was payback for Oaks Academy, who suffered a 50-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Dominic Wilhelm and Philip Schmitt certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Wilhelm scored 14 points along with five steals, while Schmitt scored eight points. That was a full 34.1% of Immaculate Conception Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Oaks Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Immaculate Conception Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Oaks Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Immaculate Conception Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the at 6:00 a.m. on Friday. Varsity Opponent has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 22.
