After a string of four wins, McCurdy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 51-37 fall against the Mesa Vista Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, with their most recent loss being a 60-46 defeat back in February.

Mesa Vista got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tana Lopez out in front who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards. Lopez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Boies, who posted eight points in addition to seven steals and six assists.

McCurdy's defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Mesa Vista, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

McCurdy and Mesa Vista are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. McCurdy will take on Tucumcari at 6:00 p.m. on March 7th. As for Mesa Vista, they will challenge Hozho Academy on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hozho Academy comes in on three and Mesa Vista on 13.
