It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Baker Hornets can now relate to. They suffered a rough 21-0 loss at the hands of Auburn on Friday. Baker gained 93 more yards on the day, but it was Auburn that made the best of use of them.
Despite the loss, Baker still got an impressive performance from Josh Flowers, who rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 174 yards and a touchdown on only 16 passes. Flowers is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Auburn found their leader in underclassman Omar Mabson, who rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. Mabson has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last seven times he's played.
Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Auburn, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Baker does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Auburn will take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
