Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Mesquite). They were the clear victors by a 23-3 margin over the Seagoville Dragons on Friday. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Stephanie Benitez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Alysa Garza was incredible, firing off two home runs, ten RBI, and one triple while going 3-for-3. Those ten RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Angela Calderon, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI.
