The Mount Morris Blue Devils's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Avon Braves at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th.
Mount Morris managed to keep up with Lima Christian until halftime last Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Mount Morris was beaten by Lima Christian 55-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mount Morris has scored all season.
Avon fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Warsaw with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 33-14. That looming 33-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Avon yet this season.
Mount Morris now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Avon, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
Things could have been worse for Mount Morris, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-31 loss to Avon in their previous meeting back in December of 2017. Can Mount Morris avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
