The Stratton Eagles came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 58-42 win over Otis. Given Stratton's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Otis is ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Cyler Notter, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and five steals. Notter is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brody Webb, who scored 11 points.
Stratton's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Otis, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Stratton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Colby at 7:00 p.m. on December 16th. Otis will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bethune at 8:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Hopefully Bethune focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Saturday.
