After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elko, Lowry was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Fernley Vaqueros with a sharp 11-3 victory. The Buckaroos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by eight runs or more this season.

Erick Valencia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Lowry's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Michael Heikkila, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Lowry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Lowry back to even at 7-7. As for Fernley, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lowry beat Fernley by a score of 3-1 on Saturday.
