After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Magnolia Heights, North Delta was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the West Memphis Christian Black Knights by a score of 32-20. This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Maxx Hinton and Gabe Carlisle. Hinton gained 139 total yards and two touchdowns while Carlisle rushed for 146 yards on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing yards Carlisle has posted since back in August of 2024. Jameson Gentry also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
North Delta was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 357 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Memphis Christian only rushed for 65 rushing yards.
North Delta didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Garner Rybolt and Paxton Hall. Another thorn in West Memphis Christian's side was Kasen Bates, who forced one fumble and made seven total tackles (2.5 for loss).
Despite the loss, West Memphis Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Deagan Davis picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 11 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
The win got North Delta back to even at 1-1. As for West Memphis Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
