In what's become a running theme this season, the University Prep Panthers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Lassen 73-48. The win was nothing new for University Prep as they're now sitting on five straight.
University Prep was led to victory by Devin Huegel and Baron Grooms. Huegel dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Grooms scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Grooms has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Scott Steffan, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Lassen still got an impressive performance from Joey Harrison, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Harrison hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Zach Hart was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
University Prep is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Lassen, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
University Prep will head out on the road to face off against Eureka at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Eureka is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Lassen, they will be playing at home against West Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.9 points per game.
