Canyon View has won three straight games at home, while Desert Edge has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Jaguars will face off against the Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Canyon View's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Camelback to the tune of 35-0. The Jaguars pushed the score to 28-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans had little chance of recovering from.

Brady Scott was his usual excellent self, throwing for 261 yards and one TD while picking up 13.1 yards per attempt. What's more, he racked up 120.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Braylon Anderson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.
Canyon View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tavin Bayer and Reggie Borges. Canyon View got some further help from Jackson McCarthy: he picked up three sacks and made eight total tackles.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Desert Edge). They blew past Mountain Pointe 35-7 on Friday. With that win, the Scorpions brought their scoring average up to 27.6 points per game.
Desert Edge's win came from a few key players Canyon View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Blake Roskopf, who threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns. Byron Brandon helped Roskopf out on the ground, rushing for 91 yards and one score.
Desert Edge didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Mountain Pointe to a completion percentage of just 47.4%. The team can thank Mikyal Davis for the heroic effort on defense: he. Desert Edge hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.51 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Canyon View's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Desert Edge, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
