On the hitting side, Erik Alamillo and Gavin Welch did most of the damage at the plate: Alamillo went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Welch scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Strasburg is undefeated when Welch posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise. RJ Weaver also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Strasburg has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Platte Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Strasburg took their victory against Platte Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
