The Liberty Christian Academy Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 78-50 win over Crosspoint Christian on the road. Liberty Christian Academy pushed the score to 64-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the had little chance of recovering from.
Leading Liberty Christian Academy to victory were Jack Duvel and Tommy Meyer. Duvel scored 17 points along with eight assists and five rebounds, while Meyer scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Duvel posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Levi Coovert, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Crosspoint Christian still got an impressive performance from James Murray, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Murray hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Stroup, who scored 17 points.
Liberty Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Crosspoint Christian, they dropped their record down to 8-8 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty Christian Academy will square off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Westwood Baptist Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Missouri (the Eagles are ranked 162nd, while the Eagles are ranked 367th). As for Crosspoint Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Providence Classical Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
