The Frankfort Redbirds lost against the DuQuoin Indians back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Frankfort fell 63-53 to DuQuoin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Frankfort in their matchups with DuQuoin: they've now lost four in a row.
It was another big night for Eli Maynor, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds for DuQuoin. Maynor is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Trelin Smith, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Frankfort has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for DuQuoin, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frankfort will take on Benton at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Benton will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Frankfort surely won't give up without a fight. As for DuQuoin, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Anna-Jonesboro at 7:45 p.m. Hopefully DuQuoin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
