The Grand Junction Tigers were the 46-37 winner over the Durango Demons when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Grand Junction fell 53-40 to Durango on Saturday. Grand Junction has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Grand Junction lost, one person who can't be blamed is Will Applegate. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Declan Lake, who scored five points along with two steals.
Grand Junction's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Durango, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-6.
Grand Junction will face off against Grand Junction Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Junction Central will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Durango will take on Montrose at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Montrose focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
