The New Covenant Gryphons had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past Roanoke Catholic with a 32-27 win. For New Covenant, this counts as revenge for the 37-35 loss Roanoke Catholic walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.
Brielle Walker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alicia Kenny, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Roanoke Catholic still got an impressive performance from Mickie O?Herron, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. O?Herron hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Aaron, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
New Covenant is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Roanoke Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
