Even though the Douglas Tigers have not done well against the Sutton Sammies recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Douglas took down the Sammies 57-43. The win made it back-to-back wins for Douglas.
Douglas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Adam Dunphy out in front who scored 18 points. Owen Gray was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Sutton's loss came despite strong showings from Charles Marchand and Cam Benedict. Marchand scored 17 points, while Benedict scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marchand has scored all season.
Douglas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Sutton, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Douglas will square off against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Quaboag Regional's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Sutton, they will head out on the road to take on the Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Northbridge will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
