It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Highland had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks 15-7. Considering the Hawks have won 17 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Highland got a massive performance out of Benjy Cardone, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Cardone a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Gunning, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Highland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 22-8.
