The Point Pleasant Big Blacks's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 57-31 margin over River Valley. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Point Pleasant has managed all season.
Among those leading the charge was Grant Barton, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Josh Chapman, who scored 16 points.
Despite the defeat, River Valley had strong showings from William Childress, who scored seven points along with five rebounds, and Landon Burns, who scored five points.
River Valley struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Point Pleasant racked up 12 assists.
Point Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for River Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Point Pleasant will take on Gallia Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Meigs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meigs will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
