The Lansing Bobcats are taking a road trip to take on the Notre Dame Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lansing is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
Last Wednesday, Lansing was able to grind out a solid win over Whitney Point, taking the game 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.
Piper Mason made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Mason was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Shelby Howells was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour, falling 18-1.
