The Canton Little Giants posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Orr 61-32 on the road. With that victory, Canton brought their scoring average up to 50 points per game.
Canton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Wenger led the charge by scoring 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wenger has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jena Goforth, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Orr lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Neshaun Williams, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Nia Crawford was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six steals.
Orr struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Canton racked up 20 assists.
Canton has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Orr, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canton will take on Limestone at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Limestone is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Orr, they will be playing at home against Amundsen at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Amundsen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Monday.
